Reflect And Be Thankful

Updated: Jan 28, 2021

My habit is to think more about what I DON’T have than to focus on what I DO have. In our culture of always wanting bigger and better it’s common to have that tendency, but I want to challenge your thinking today - focus on your present blessings, not on past problems. Gratefulness will change your outlook, your attitude and maybe even the outcome of your day.

Take time to reflect before you dive in to the challenges of the day and focus on being thankful for what you have.

Here’s a quick 2 step spiritual / mental exercise to try today:

1. Take a moment to be thankful for your job and the place you work. Your workplace may not be perfect, but in healthcare we are blessed to work alongside some heroic and selfless team members every day, so start there - be thankful for today's blessings.

2. Take the time to think of at least 2 more specific present blessings in your life. Your family, your home, your pet, YOUR HEALTH, your friends...

“Reflect upon your present blessings - everyone has many; not on your past problems, of which everyone has some.” - Unkown

Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards. Your blessings are someone else’s hope.

Reflect and be thankful.
